The change in the schedule of Hydrocodone from CIII to CII dramatically increased the number of “hard scripts” required to acquire medications needed to manage pain in our most medically fragile residents. Southern Pharmacy has taken a proactive approach to assist our facilities in making necessary adjustments to address recent DEA rulings regarding Hydrocodone. Our staff will continue to work to obtain the needed scripts ahead of time so that there will not be a break in therapy and to ensure our customers that their residents receive the medication they need.
