Marybeth Terry, PharmD, Southern Pharmacy’s President and Glenn Whitley, PharmD, Director of Operations, Customer Support and Quality Assurance for our Pink Hill, North Carolina location have been going back to school — this time, as instructors. Over the spring and summer, both pharmacists are working with several professional long-term care organizations in conjunction with the state of North Carolina to help educate facility staff and future facility leaders.
The seminars are sponsored by the North Carolina Health Care Facility Association, the North Carolina Senior Living Association as well as the state-run programs for skilled facility administrators-in-training and assisted living administrators-in-training.
Topics include drug diversion in the long-term care facility, emergency preparedness and the facility-long-term care pharmacy relationship.
“Having the opportunity to work with current and future facility staff gives me a true sense of giving back to the profession I care so much about,” said Terry. “Proper training is so important to the smooth operation of any organization, and I’m proud to be called upon by these industry groups and the state of North Carolina to contribute to our industry.”
