When severe floods hit West Virginia in June, employees of Southern Pharmacy Services in Wytheville leaped into action. SPS staff collected daily necessities including multiple packs of paper towels, toilet paper, diapers, bleach, Clorox wipes, household cleaners, trash bags and bottled water.
The supplies were sent to the flood zone of Clay, West Virginia, a very small mountain community 135 miles north of Wytheville with the closest grocery store located an hour away.
“Our neighbors needed help and we were more than happy to contribute,” said Renae Cregger, Wytheville pharmacy manager. “For many people, the flood was devastating, and the need is still there. Those wanting to help can donate to the Red Cross, specifying West Virginia Flood Relief.”
