After experiencing two devastating hurricanes and facing the threat of a third over the last three years, Southern Pharmacy’s Pink Hill location in eastern North Carolina has become well-versed in the process of disaster preparedness. Overcoming obstacles to ensure medications are delivered has been Southern Pharmacy’s primary concern, and policies and processes have been put into place to make sure this goal is met.
The team at Southern Pharmacy will be sharing their insights with attendees at the upcoming North Carolina Assisted Living Association Conference in Winston-Salem on October 8-9. Pharmacy employees will discuss actions that both the facility and pharmacy should take to prepare for dangerous weather events or other disasters that could impact operations. The conference will take place at Winston-Salem’s Benton Convention Center.
